AC New Install — Indoor Wall Mounting (Concrete, Drywall, Anchor Torque)

Likely causes

Step 1 — Identify wall material and select anchor/fastening

Check: Concrete/brick (masonry) = 4 expansion anchors (75 mm depth, torque 24–30 N·m / 18–22 ft·lb). Drywall = locate studs and fasten directly; standalone drywall anchors prohibited above 9 kg. ALC (autoclaved aerated concrete) = chemical anchors. Never set anchors in mortar joints.

What to do: After mounting, verify side-to-side movement ≤ 1/8 inch (3 mm). Choose bracket rated for (indoor weight + condensate weight 1–2 L) × 1.5–2 safety factor. Use level for L-R horizontal + 1–2° back-tilt (to guide condensate drainage).

Field tip

Wall mount = weight + vibration accumulates → loosens over time. Re-torque anchors every 5 years. Never mount directly on mortar joints, mud walls, or old Korean hanok — install reinforcement frame.
