AC Outdoor Unit Leak — Condensation, Rain, or Drain Hose Failure
Likely causes
Identify leak cause (heating condensate, rain intrusion, hose damage)
Check: Heating mode (heat pump winter) = condensate normally drains from outdoor unit (1–3 L/hr). Verify hose location. Rain intrusion = inspect top cabinet panel/gaskets. Drain hose = check cracks/kinks/freeze. Hose discharging onto walkway = freeze hazard.
What to do: Route condensate hose to external drain. Freeze-risk areas = heat trace or insulated hose. Damaged gasket = OEM replacement. Cracked hose = replace. Discharging on walkway = extend to gutter/drain.
Heat pump = lots of outdoor condensate in winter. Risk of ice on rooftops/balconies — must educate user. Rain intrusion = replace cabinet gaskets every 5 years. R-32/R-410A doesn't change condensate volume.
All 565 cases work offline in R-Pro, with error codes for 62 brands and P-T data for 108 refrigerants.
