Likely causes

Identify vibration source (case, bracket, railing, compressor)

Check: Touch each outdoor part by hand to find the loudest/strongest vibration. ① Cabinet (case) vibration = small outdoor units resonate on shell. ② Bracket/railing = transmitted shake. ③ Internal compressor mount = body vibration/knocking. ④ Fan blade imbalance = wobble on rotation. Separate operating sound from vibration sound. User reports: 'rumbling' = usually cabinet/bracket / 'clack-clack' = inside compressor / 'metallic' = fan blade.

What to do: **Field emergency** (small outdoor units): ① **Cabinet vibration → tap with hand** = noise drops immediately. Temporary only, not root cause. ② **Cable-tie loose rails/brackets** = bind shaking parts tightly. ③ **Add anti-vibration pads** (rubber 30–50 mm) = 60–70% noise reduction. ④ **Level it** = tilt causes more vibration; use base shims. ⑤ **Internal compressor mount** = body replacement (no emergency fix). ⑥ **Fan blade imbalance** = clean, check balance weights, replace blade if missing. Korean apartments = frequent neighbor complaints; nighttime ≤50 dB required.
