Package/Ducted Heat Exchanger Cleaning — Efficiency Restoration
Likely causes
Fouling inspection + chemical cleaning + rinse
Check: Fin surface = dust, grease, biofilm. Comb to straighten fins. Coil cleaner (alkaline = general dust/grease; acidic = oxide/sand/salt — requires ventilation/PPE). After chemical clean, rinse 2–3× with clean water. Drain condensate, then run 30-min test.
What to do: Fin comb to straighten aluminum → spray coil cleaner (alkaline or acidic per manual) → 5-min dwell → rinse 2–3× with clean water. Drain condensate fully, run system 30 min → measure discharge temp/static. Provide before/after photos + measurements to customer.
Package/ducted = annual cleaning required (Korean food/HACCP facilities 2×/year). 5 years uncleaned = 40–50% efficiency loss. Acidic cleaners can corrode copper/aluminum; use only when necessary. Deliver before/after photos + measurements to client.
