Wi-Fi Remote App Connection Failure — smartphone app cannot find AC unit
Likely causes
Connecting to 5 GHz band — AC Wi-Fi module supports 2.4 GHz only
Check: Check current connection band in phone Wi-Fi settings — if connected to 5 GHz (shows 5G), AC app cannot discover unit. Verify band settings in router admin page
What to do: Create separate 2.4 GHz-only SSID on router → connect phone to 2.4 GHz SSID → retry app connection
Router AP isolation (Client Isolation) enabled — blocks device-to-device communication
Check: Access router admin page (192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) → Wireless settings → check AP Isolation / Client Isolation setting
What to do: Set AP Isolation to OFF → save → restart router → retry app connection
WPA3-only security — older AC Wi-Fi module does not support WPA3
Check: Check router security mode — if WPA3-only, compatibility issues arise. Check supported security modes in AC Wi-Fi module spec sheet
What to do: Change router security to WPA2 (AES) or WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode → save and reconnect
Connect smartphone to 2.4 GHz SSID first, then launch app — resolves 80% of band mismatch issues. Try this first.
