Blade Pitch Misalignment / Damage
Likely causes
Pitch locking bolts loosened — repeated vibration and thermal cycling
Check: Stop and measure each blade pitch angle with protractor — compare to design (typically 10–12°); also check for overcurrent (pitch imbalance raises current 5–10A)
What to do: Re-torque pitch bolts (M10: 35–40 N·m) → set all blade pitch angles equal → test run and verify current and vibration
Debris impact (leaves/plastic) or FRP blade UV-induced delamination
Check: Visually check FRP blades for cracks, delamination, or deformation — immediately replace if cracks found (no temporary adhesive repairs)
What to do: Replace cracked/delaminated blades immediately → install and inspect debris screens at air inlet → annual inspection of FRP blade UV coating
Even one blade with different pitch can raise current draw by 5–10A. Always check blade pitch imbalance when diagnosing overcurrent trips.
