Spray Nozzle Blockage/Misalignment — Uneven Water Distribution
Likely causes
Scale/debris partially blocking nozzle orifice — spray pattern distortion
Check: Visually check each nozzle spray pattern from top basin; start from nozzle above any dry fill zone
What to do: Remove all nozzles → soak 5% citric acid 30 min → clear with pin → replace identical Cv nozzles
Uneven pressure in distribution header — insufficient flow at far-end nozzles
Check: Measure header inlet and far-end pressure — differential >0.05 bar confirms imbalance
What to do: Add equalizing orifice or resize header → high-pressure flush interior (20 bar) → re-measure
Nozzle direction misaligned — water spraying outside fill, uneven fill wetting
Check: Check each nozzle spray direction after stopping — verify aimed at fill center
What to do: Readjust nozzles toward fill center → ensure 10–15% spray pattern overlap when replacing
Quickest drift diagnosis: visually check water flow in each zone from top basin. Dry fill zone — inspect nozzle directly above.
