Compressor Anti-Vibration Mount Hardening → Vibration Transmission
Likely causes
Anti-vibration rubber hardening — loss of elasticity
Check: Visually inspect anti-vibration mounts (cracks, deformation, contamination); press with finger to check elasticity; measure compressor base vibration — replace if 4 mm/s or above
What to do: Replace all 4 anti-vibration mounts simultaneously (partial replacement causes load imbalance) → retorque bolts 20–30 N·m → run 30 minutes then re-measure to confirm below 2 mm/s; also address oil leak source to prevent re-contamination
Loose mounting bolts — direct metal-to-metal contact
Check: Visually and manually check for loose bolts; check if rubber mount has lifted (gap formed); pattern of sudden vibration with metallic impact sound
What to do: Retighten bolts to spec torque; replace rubber if deformed or damaged; if Shore A exceeds 60, hardening confirmed → replace
Replace anti-vibration mounts older than 5 years even without visible cracks — replace if Shore A hardness exceeds 60.
