Horizontal Indoor Unit Airflow Louver Malfunction

Likely causes

Louver stepper motor failure — coil resistance deviation causing non-operation

Check: Remove louver motor connector and measure coil resistance: normal 50–100Ω — check for open circuit (infinity) or abnormal value

What to do: Replace stepper motor → after replacement, power-cycle to initialize louver → verify normal operating range

Louver linkage (connecting parts) broken or detached

Check: Check if louver moves during manual operation → visually inspect linkage pins and clips for detachment

What to do: Reattach or replace detached parts → re-verify entire linkage assembly condition → confirm both manual and motorized operation

No louver control signal output — PCB output failure

Check: Measure louver motor connector pin voltage (normal 5V pulse signal) → no signal indicates PCB output port failure

What to do: Cut power and re-seat PCB connector → re-verify signal after restart → replace PCB if faulty

Field tip

Louver auto-initializes on power cycle — always power-cycle after motor replacement to initialize.
