Indoor Unit Fan Abnormal Noise and Vibration
Likely causes
Foreign object contacting fan blade or scroll — friction noise at low speed
Check: Stop fan rotation and inspect scroll interior with flashlight → check for foreign object contact marks or scratches
What to do: Remove foreign object → check fan blade for deformation and replace if needed → re-verify noise after cleaning and test run
Fan motor bearing wear — noise increases at high speed operation
Check: Check fan motor shaft play for 0.1mm or more → listen to noise pattern change when switching low→high speed
What to do: Replace fan motor → re-verify fan blade balance → measure current after replacement to confirm normal range
Indoor unit body mounting screws loose — resonance vibration
Check: Lightly touch body during operation → check for vibration change → check all mounting screw torque (4–6 N·m)
What to do: Re-tighten all mounting screws (4–6 N·m) → check and replace vibration-damping rubber pads → re-verify installation surface level
Distinguish cause by noise speed pattern: low speed = foreign object friction, high speed = bearing wear, all speeds = resonance vibration.
