BMS/Building Management System Gateway Integration Failure
Likely causes
BACnet/IP communication port setting mismatch — UDP 47808 not used
Check: Check gateway settings: BACnet/IP port UDP 47808 in use → verify BMS-side network settings match → confirm packets with network sniffer
What to do: Change gateway BACnet/IP port to UDP 47808 → synchronize BMS-side network settings → re-verify integration
Modbus RS-485 communication speed mismatch — gateway and BMS baud rate differ
Check: Check gateway Modbus settings: baud rate 9600 or 19200 bps → compare with BMS baud rate setting → verify data bits, stop bits, parity match
What to do: Set both gateway and BMS to identical baud rate → verify RS-485 termination resistance 120Ω → retry integration
Gateway firmware version mismatch — VRF protocol not supported
Check: Check gateway firmware version → look up supported VRF model version in manufacturer compatibility matrix → identify required update version
What to do: Update gateway firmware to latest version → reconfigure VRF integration after update → re-verify BMS point mapping
Before BMS integration, always pre-verify BACnet/Modbus version and VRF model compatibility in gateway specifications.
