Condenser Fan Motor Failure
Likely causes
Fan motor coil break or burnout
Check: High-pressure trip within 5 min of fan stopping = fan failure 99%; measure fan motor coil resistance (break: ∞); insulation resistance below 1MΩ = burned
What to do: Replace with same spec fan motor; after replacement, measure high pressure — R-404A @40°C normal 1.6~1.8 MPa; if abnormal, also clean condenser
Fan overload from condenser fin contamination
Check: Visually inspect condenser fin condition — dust/oil blockage extent; measure high pressure — above 2.0 MPa = condensing failure
What to do: Spray fin cleaner then reverse flush with water; ensure minimum 15cm ventilation clearance; remeasure fan motor current
Startup failure from capacitor failure
Check: Measure capacitor capacitance — normal within ±10% of rated; 0 or excessive = failure; if fan rotates manually but won't start = capacitor failure
What to do: Replace with same capacitance capacitor; verify with startup current measurement after replacement
High-pressure trip within 5 min of fan stop = 99% fan failure — diagnose against R-404A @40°C normal 1.6~1.8 MPa; manually rotates = capacitor issue; won't rotate = coil failure
