Excessive Temperature Rise After Defrost
Likely causes
Defrost duration set too long
Check: Check controller defrost duration parameter — recommended summer 30~40 min, winter 15~20 min; excess setting causes temperature overshoot
What to do: Adjust defrost duration to match season; if termination sensor is normal, shortening saves energy
Defrost termination sensor malfunction — over-defrost continues
Check: Verify termination sensor (thermostat or NTC) operating temperature — thermostat normal operation +10~+13°C; NTC resistance 10kΩ at 25°C; deviation = failure
What to do: Thermostat: verify operating temp and adjust or replace; NTC: measure resistance with multimeter and replace if abnormal
No fan delay timer after defrost — warm air circulates immediately
Check: Check fan restart delay setting after defrost termination — recommended 3~5 min delay; no delay = heater heat circulates immediately
What to do: Set fan delay timer to 3~5 min; if unavailable, add auxiliary relay timer
Defrost cycle too frequent — exceeding daily defrost count
Check: Check daily defrost count — showcase recommended 4~6 times; excessive setting causes repeated unnecessary heat load and temperature rise
What to do: Optimize defrost count to 4~6 times daily; consider increasing if coil icing occurs (up to 6 times in summer)
Defrost temperature recovery standard: return to within +2°C of setpoint within 30 min after termination = normal; if exceeded, shorten duration or adjust fan delay
