End-Zone Temperature Rise (Uneven Cooling)
Likely causes
End fan motor failure
Check: Visually confirm end fan motor rotation — stopped or slow = fan failure; measure temperature difference between end and middle zones with thermometer (above 2°C = fan issue)
What to do: Replace fan motor (same W/rpm/blade count); confirm insulation resistance above 1MΩ before installation
Duct blockage or deformation — weakened airflow to end zone
Check: Check duct interior for foreign object blockage or crushing; measure end-zone outlet airspeed — above 20% reduction vs middle = duct problem
What to do: Clean duct or replace deformed section; maintain bend angles at 90 degrees or less
Refrigerant distributor imbalance — insufficient liquid to end evaporator
Check: For multi-case series connection, measure end evaporator inlet-outlet temperature difference — below 5°C = insufficient refrigerant flow
What to do: Adjust distributor balancing valve; increase end expansion valve opening; check refrigerant charge
Panel damage — heat infiltration
Check: Check end case rear and side panel for damage; condensation area = insulation damage point; detect hot spots with IR camera or thermometer
What to do: Replace damaged panel; seal gaps with polyurethane foam; recheck end-zone temperature after replacement to confirm
End zone temperature above 2°C higher than middle — check fan first; end fan failure is the cause in 60% of showcase temperature unevenness cases
