Drainage Failure
Likely causes
Drain pipe slope insufficient or blocked
Check: Check drain pipe slope — minimum 1/50 (2%) required; horizontal or reverse slope = drainage failure; visually inspect inside hose for scale blockage
What to do: Re-route piping to ensure proper slope; flush blocked section with acid cleaner or replace piping
Drain pump failure
Check: Check drain pump operation — no motor sound during drain command = failure; manually check impeller rotation
What to do: Clean impeller of scale then restart test; replace pump if motor is failed
Basin overfill — water supply continues before drainage
Check: Check water level sensor malfunction — if supply solenoid doesn't close, basin overflows; measure water level sensor terminal resistance
What to do: Clean or replace water level sensor; verify solenoid valve closes properly
Drain hose kink
Check: Visually inspect entire drain hose run — 90-degree kink = immediate drainage blockage cause; especially check routing inside machine room
What to do: Re-route hose or add hose support brackets; maintain gentle curve with minimum 100mm radius
First check for drainage failure: drain hose slope and kinks — even with a pump, lack of slope causes long-term blockage
