Ice-Making Cycle Repeated Restart
Likely causes
Thickness sensor contamination
Check: Visually inspect thickness sensor surface for scale/slime deposits; test if it moves freely
What to do: Clean sensor surface with nickel-safe cleaner and recalibrate; replace if plating is worn off
Ice-making timer setting error
Check: Check control board timer parameters — normal freeze 12~18 min, harvest 2~4 min; verify no parameter drift
What to do: Reset to factory defaults and reprogram; replace control board if settings drift repeatedly
Cycle incomplete due to refrigerant shortage
Check: Suction pressure gauge — R-404A @-15°C saturation 0.37 MPa; below this = refrigerant shortage
What to do: Detect and repair leak → vacuum 30 min → recharge to specification
Incomplete harvest (ice release failure)
Check: Check evaporator temperature during harvest — must reach +8°C for ice release; if not, check hot gas path
What to do: Check electrical signal and operation of hot gas bypass valve; measure coil resistance and replace if faulty
Hot gas solenoid valve failure
Check: Measure valve coil resistance — normal 10~30Ω; open or short circuit = replace; no temp rise during harvest = valve not operating
What to do: Replace coil or entire valve; verify harvest temperature reaches +8°C after replacement
Water level sensor error
Check: Measure sensor terminal voltage — open with no water, closed with water = normal; scale buildup causes malfunction
What to do: Clean sensor probe and retest; replace if errors persist — prevent recurrence with RO filter for water quality
70% of cycle restart cases are due to thickness sensor contamination or hot gas valve failure — check these two first
All 565 cases work offline in R-Pro, with error codes for 62 brands and P-T data for 108 refrigerants.
