Temperature Rise Due to Overloading Beyond Load Limit
Likely causes
Merchandise loaded above the Load Limit Line
Check: Locate load limit line marking inside showcase; measure front/rear row temperature difference — above 2°C = suspected overloading
What to do: Remove excess merchandise and relocate within load limit; staff training to prevent recurrence
Air curtain airflow blocked by merchandise
Check: Check airflow path between outlet and inlet — if merchandise blocks airflow, air curtain collapses; measure inlet airspeed with anemometer (30% reduction vs normal = airflow blocked)
What to do: Move merchandise blocking airflow path; clean foreign matter from inlet grille; distribute loading guidelines to staff
Cold air circulation obstructed — improper shelf placement
Check: Check airflow passage behind shelves — if shelves are against rear wall, cold air circulation is blocked; minimum 5cm rear airflow passage required
What to do: Ensure minimum 5cm gap between shelf and rear wall; readjust shelf positions
Front/rear row temperature difference above 2°C = overloading or airflow blockage — thermometer is the first verification tool; immediately correct overloading for food safety
