Frost or Water Droplets on Products
Likely causes
Air curtain collapse — outside moisture infiltration
Check: Measure outlet airspeed — below 2.5 m/s = unstable air curtain; if frost is concentrated on front-row products = air curtain issue
What to do: Replace fan motor or defrost coil; clean outlet; instruct use of night cover
Improper shelf placement — direct cold air contact
Check: Check if shelf is placed directly in front of outlet — direct cold air causes product surface over-cooling → frost; measure product surface temperature with thermometer
What to do: Relocate shelf away from outlet; install deflector (direction guide) to prevent direct airflow
No fan delay after defrost — warm moisture condenses on products
Check: Check fan delay timer setting — recommended 3~5 min; if not set, warm air including heater residual heat directly contacts products
What to do: Set fan delay timer to 3~5 min; add auxiliary relay timer if not available
Frost on front row → air curtain; specific shelf → direct cold airflow; overall → no fan delay; location helps identify root cause
