Hollow Ice Cubes
Likely causes
Insufficient water supply — evaporator not fully covered
Check: Check water level sensor operation — verify basin level not below minimum; measure supply solenoid valve open duration
What to do: Extend solenoid valve fill time setting by 10~15%; recalibrate water level sensor
Freeze cycle too short (harvest before complete freeze)
Check: Log freeze cycle duration — below 10 min = abnormal; compare thickness sensor setting vs actual ice thickness
What to do: Extend freeze timer by 10~15%; increase thickness sensor set value
Center not freezing due to high water temperature
Check: Incoming water above 25°C increases hollow cube frequency in the same cycle; also measure ambient temperature
What to do: Insulate supply line or adjust fill timing; compensate by extending freeze timer
Uneven spray nozzle — insufficient center supply
Check: Check nozzle spray pattern with paper test — center holes blocked; visually confirm even spray
What to do: Clean nozzle holes with fine wire or replace; adjust spray distributor balance
Hollow cubes are overwhelmingly caused by insufficient water supply (70%) — extending solenoid fill time by 10~15% is the first fix to try
