Timer/Relay Malfunction

Likely causes

Timer setting drift — abnormal freeze/harvest time

Check: Measure actual freeze and harvest cycle times with stopwatch — normal freeze 12~18 min, harvest 2~4 min; check settings if out of range

What to do: Reset timer parameters to factory defaults and reprogram; replace electronic timer if drift repeats

Relay contact burned — intermittent failure

Check: Measure relay contact voltage — verify contact output voltage during coil activation; use oscilloscope to confirm intermittent interruption

What to do: Replace relay with same specification; inspect PCB solder joints for cracks and resolder

Power supply voltage fluctuation — causes timer errors

Check: Measure input voltage — normal within ±10% of rated; use multimeter hold function or voltage logger to check fluctuation range

What to do: Install voltage stabilizer; report to utility if it's a distribution problem; inspect control board power supply capacitors

Field tip

Timer anomalies always start with stopwatch measurement — if freeze is outside 12~18 min or harvest outside 2~4 min, check timer parameters or relay
