Likely causes
Filter cartridge life exceeded — scale and sediment accumulation
Check: Check pressure gauges before and after filter — differential above 0.05 MPa = 20%+ flow reduction; check last replacement date
What to do: Replace cartridge (6-month basis or differential pressure basis); remeasure differential pressure after replacement to confirm normal
Premature clogging due to poor water quality
Check: Measure raw water TDS — above 500 ppm = high hardness; if filter replacement interval is shortening, suspect water quality
What to do: Install RO pre-treatment filter or water softener to reduce hardness; shorten filter replacement interval to 3 months
Filter housing O-ring damage — air ingestion reducing flow
Check: Apply soapy water to filter housing joints — bubbles = O-ring damage; check for flow noise after filter replacement
What to do: Replace O-ring (same specification); retighten filter housing (avoid over-tightening)
Differential pressure 0.05 MPa = 20% flow reduction — memorize this threshold; remeasuring differential pressure after replacement is the key to confirmation
